You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be
What a bold statement – You can be whatever you want to be!? When I was reflecting on that in the toilet … yes, I do a lot of reflecting and thinking in the toilet. Don’t ask me why and I know it is not a good habit. But hey, it’s making good use of time. While reflecting on that, the skeptical mind spoke out softly, “Yeah right, what if I want to be like superman?” Thus, I thought, yes, we can be whatever we want to be – provided it must be something logical and realistic.
Then another voice spoke up, “If I want to be like superman, perhaps I can find a way to defy gravity so that I can fly or to find a way to become strong like him! The easier options for flying are to fly a plane or to go sky-diving or paragliding.” The latter, like sky-diving or paragliding should give me a pretty close experience to ‘flying.’
To find a way to defy gravity or to be as strong as him, I would probably have to take up my whole life and I might not even come close to it. The next question is, “Do I really want to be like superman?” I realised that as much as I want to be like him, I am not willing to spend my whole life researching for ways to defy gravity or for ways to be as strong as him. And it’s not my life purpose either.
Maybe you have a crazier idea and it seems not possible to be what you want to be, the question you may want to ask yourself is, “Are you prepared to do whatever it takes?” If you are, then go ahead!
It always seems impossible until its done. – Nelson Mandela
So yes! Like water which can take the shape of its container, I believe we can be whatever we want to be! I believe that we have the potential within us to be what we want to be. Believing is the part about “We can” achieve what we want to be. The next step is to follow through with what we believe with massive action.
The question is, “Are we ready to go all out and give it all in our pursue? I do hope we do not have to go through the extreme in our pursue and we do have the support of loved ones around us. This latter part about taking massive action is the deserving part. It determines if we deserve it?
A strong believe, and may I add a strong faith, coupled with massive actions, and we may wake up one morning, just as described in this poem below, to find that we are the person we dreamed of; doing what we wanted to do, simply because we had the courage to believe in our potential and to hold on to our dreams.

You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be! by Donna Levine
There is inside you
All of the potential
To be whatever you want to be;
All of the energy
To do whatever you want to do.
Imagine yourself as you would like to be,
Doing what you want to do,
And each day, take one step
Towards your dream.
And though at times it may seem too
difficult to continue,
Hold on to your dream.
One morning you will awake to find
That you are the person you dreamed of,
Doing what you wanted to do,
Simply because you had the courage
To believe in your potential
And to hold on to your dream.

Talking, writing is another thing.
Life taking up in journey is another thing. No action also no use!
Single life have up more time than married life.
Thus a person can be of whatsoever depends all.
@ Spirit willing, flesh unwilling, I respect your opinion. Henry Ford said, “If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.” We have seen miracles happening around us often time where the spirit was willing, the flesh did amazing things. The claim that a 4-minute mile was once thought to be impossible by informed observers but Roger Bannister set a goal to be the first man to run a mile under 4 minutes and he went on to achieve that in 6 May 1954. And many miraculously went on to run a sub-4-minute mile after that where it was once thought impossible.
skeptical of your answer. as you often quote somebody’s one. But how far yourself have done it>> ?
@ talking, I’m learning and doing. And it is not so much of how far I have done it that is important, it is you? In this humble blog, I hope to inspire others to bring out the potential within them. Some will buy it, some will not. Just as we can bring the cow to the river to drink water, yet if the cow is not thirsty, we cannot force the cow to drink. I do not have the unrealistic expectation to inspire everyone; even if I have made one life easier, I am happy already. When the student is ready, the master appears. I am ready and thus I am learning from all the quotes … and since learning and knowing is not enough, I must also do.
