To forgive others is to be kind to oneself
When we forgive the person, we free ourselves from the hurt the person incurred. We also free ourselves from the needs to know the ‘WHYs’ and ‘HOWs.’ Why did he do this to me? How could she betray my trust? Why did they hurt me like this? And more self-beating questionings and torments to which we may never get any answer or relief.

“Good morning,” said a woman as she walked up to the man sitting on the ground. The man slowly looked up. This was a woman clearly accustomed to the finer things of life. Her coat was new. She looked like she had never missed a meal in her life. His first thought was that she wanted to make fun of him, like so many others had done before. “Leave me alone,” he growled.

The Different is only in our mind
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.
The scorpion stings but I do not
An old man saw a scorpion drowning and decided to pull it out from the water. He calmly extended his hand to reach the creature. When he did, the scorpion stung him. With the effect of the pain, the old man let go the creature and it fell back into the water.
