Enjoy Today, Mama

Read a quote by Anthony Douglas Williams this morning that goes, “Spending time with children is more important than spending money on children.” While we are busy making a living to provide for our little ones, they are also quietly growing up. We have missed the most crucial years of our children; some have said these are the most fun and fulfilling years. Read more

The Man Who Loves Me the Most in this World

The Man Who Loves Me the Most in this World

The Man Who Loves Me the Most in this World

I saw this paragraph in Mandarin today and translated it into English to share it with you. I thought that it was absolutely beautiful and yet touching. Don’t most of us have a father like this?

Somehow when I was reading that short paragraph, I was reminded of my father. He has been such a father in many ways to us. Although he is no longer with us, he is still closed in the hearts of those he had loved unconditionally. Whatever we have given unconditionally, no matter how small they might seem to be, would never be lost – they would always be dearly remembered. Indeed, he was the man who loved us the most in this world!

He liked me without any makeup on,
liked my long ponytail,

He asked me everyday what I had for lunch
and what I wanted for dinner,

He would frown and say, “Bought clothes again,”
and then complimented, “Beautiful,”

He taught me not to waste money and then passed me a credit card,

He listened in silent when I was crying over the phone …
Then said, “Come back … I would support you!”

The man who loved me the most in the world was already married to my mother!

Yet I love him still!

Creating Tremendous Value

Last Sunday, I went on an unexpected journey of discovery. Why did I say unexpected? I was supposed to travel up to Genting Highland to get my new Sony Xperia P from my sister but there was unusually ‘expected’ waiting on my journey there; I didn’t expect there would be so much people. I basically had to wait an hour for the Skyway cable up to Genting Highland. Fortunately, time was not wasted throughout the trip as I was armed with a fantastic read on ‘Alibaba‘, on the story of Jack Ma. Before that I was still toying on which book to bring, whether to bring Richard Branson’s Business Stripped Base (another good reading) or to bring ‘Alibaba.’ Sorry Richard that I chose Ma Yun over you. Impossible is Nothing

How often have we heard someone around us saying the word, “Impossible.” And how often we spoke that word ourselves. I believe we have lost count already. Yet impossible is really “I m possible.” A gentle reminder for all of us that impossible is nothing but a word, so long as we believe. Sharing an inspirational video with you:

We have often seen ‘miracles’ happening throughout history which were at first thought to be impossible too and yet we are still so ready to believe in it. As mentioned in the video, next time someone says: “It’s Impossible!”, let us consider these quotes:

“… Everything that can be invented has been invented.” – Commissioner. U.S. Patent Office 1899

“The telephone has too many shortcomings to be a means of communication.” – Executive from World’s Leading Telegraph Company 1876

“I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.” – IBM Chairman 1943

“Guitar music is on the way out.” – Record executive who rejected the Beatles, 1962

“100 meters in under 10 seconds? Not in our lifetime.”

Inspired by a reading yesterday, I would like to share these ways to simplifying your life.

1. Focus on doing good things and all else will follow

This morning I read a comment someone made that being a good person is the world’s toughest task. Indeed, it could very well be the greatest challenge – especially when we put the focus on being a good person. Read more

The Paradoxical Commandments by Kent M. Keith

The Paradoxical Commandments was an inspiring poem written by Dr. Kent M. Keith back in 1968 when he was still an undergraduate. Interestingly, a similar poem was found hanging on the wall of Mother Teresa‘s children’s home in Calcutta, India. Dr. Kent had brilliantly brought a reality in the real world that we live in and challenge us to still choose to love, to do good, to succeed, to be honest and frank, to help and to give the world the best anyway. 108-year-old Wisdom from Alice Herz Sommer

108-year-old Wisdom from Alice Herz SommerAlice Herz Sommer, a Czech pianist and a music teacher, is an amazing lady with superb positive outlook in life. She was not only a survivor of the Theresienstadt concentration camp but also remains resolutely optimistic in her whole life. And now at 108 years old, Alice lives by herself in a tiny London flat with no assistance.

She still practices piano three hours every day. Alice is truly an inspiration and the best thing I learned from her is, “Everything is a present.” Some may ask, “Even the bad experience?” I truly believe so … there is always something we can learn from our experiences regardless good or bad. As Alice put it best in the video, “I know about the bad, but I look at the good thing.Read more
